While working both at the local and national level, we consider one of our main objectives to be influencing the national environmental policy by providing a relevant knowledge base and cooperating with policy-makers. As a first step, NACRES carried out the first Biodiversity Country Study in 1996 and later co-authored all three subsequent National Biodiversity Strategies and Auction Plans.
NACRES is actively involved in every environmental legislation and policy development initiated by the government. If not directly involved in their preparation, our team carefully reviews draft documents and proposes relevant changes as is appropriate or otherwise provides expertise and professional assistance.
