In partnership with relevant state and international organisations, we have achieved significant progress in the sustainable management of natural graze lands by developing pasture management plans for selected Protected Areas and following internationally-recognised best practices for the ecologically sound use of grassland ecosystems. Supported by studies and working closely with local pastoral communities, we have also worked towards the acceptance of traditional livestock grazing as an important ecological factor for the maintenance of grassland health and habitat heterogeneity, especially in the absence of large wild herbivores.
NACRES activities include:
