We contribute to the development and increased effectiveness of Georgia’s Protected Areas system by providing vital expertise and needs assessments, as well as campaigning to diversify PA management categories in the country and to increase the overall national PA coverage through supporting the establishment of new and the expansion of existing protected areas. We provide active PAs assistance with governing strategies and management by:

• Preparing or actively participating in the development of management plans and other strategic documents for Georgian Protected Areas
• Increasing the capability of Georgia’s Protected Areas through specialised training given to rangers, park officials, and more
• Campaigning for the introduction of privately owned, privately managed, and community managed Protected Areas
• Improving local attitudes around PAs through raising awareness and community engagement
